Regulation of advisers
People who provide immigration advice and services must be regulated.
Immigration advisers who are not members of the legal profession are usually regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).
This means that advisers must comply with OISC requirements.
It also means that students and others can complain to the OISC if they are not happy with immigration advice they have received, or with the way in which their immigration case has been handled.
The OISC cannot deal with complaints about the Home Office or tribunals and their staff.
