TB test if required
Apply online; make biometrics appointment
Pay application fee and health surcharge (where applicable) - online or when giving biometrics
Biometrics - VAC or other centre
Take printed application, passport and docs to VAC or send after biometrics
Applicant may be interviewed; ECO grants or refuses
Documents and passport returned by post or collection
Biometric residence permit is collected from either Post Office or sponsor after arrival in the UK
