Professional networks

  • The Association of International Student Advisers (AISA) – a professional network for International Student Advisers whose institutions belong to UKCISA. AISA hold regional and national meetings and an annual conference. In Scotland, equivalent networking activities are run by STRATOS.
  • Association of UK Higher Education European Officers (HEURO) – professional network for staff working as European Officers in higher education. It offers a members' email discussion list, networking meetings and conferences, and updates on EU programmes.
  • British Universities' International Liaison Association (BUILA) – a professional network for staff in higher education involved in international student recruitment, with a closed email discussion list, regional meetings and annual conference. (Colleagues in Scotland should seek out the Scottish Universities International Group)
  • British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association (BUTEX) – a professional network for staff involved in exchanges and study abroad programmes with (primarily) North American institutions. It has a members' email discussion list, two open meetings per year and a biennial conference.
  • English UK is a network for accredited English language schools, offering a regular newsletter and training events
  • Study UK provides membership services for accredited private sector institutions including a newsletter and training.
  • FE International Network two to three networking events per year are organised for staff undertaking international work in further education colleges across the UK.
  • Immigration Compliance Network. Formed in 2014 to provide a peer to peer network for staff with a compliance role to meet and share good practice and lobby for change. Meetings held regionally and nationally.
